The Leipzig team of MIME, Sabine Fiedler and Cyril Brosch, wish to call your attention to a conference they are organising on multilingualism in Europe.
The conference will take place in Berlin in early November 2017. It is the 27th annual conference of the Gesellschaft für Interlinguistik e.V. (Society for Interlinguistics). The conference will be held in German.
The participation of other MIME members and interested externals is especially welcome, whether or not they wish to give a talk. The proceedings of the conference will be published next year in the new series edited by the Leipzig team, "Jahrbuch der Gesellschaft für Interlinguistik".
MIME coordinator François Grin and MIME researcher Michele Gazzola just co-authored a chapter published in Gabriel González Núñez & Reyne Meylaerts (eds.), Translation and Public Policy. Interdisciplinary Perspectives and Case Studies. London: Routledge, 83-116.
Gazzola, M. & Grin, F., 2017: "Comparative language policy and evaluation: Criteria, indicators and implications for translation policy".
MIME researcher Michele Gazzola just published "Multilinguismo ed economia in Italia", in Cabiddu, Maria Agostina (ed.), L'italiano alla prova dell'internazionalizzazione. Milan: Guerini, p. 59-82 (2017).
Nike Pokorn from the University of Ljubljana, MIME co-coordinator, will be delivering one of the keynotes at the International Conference Translation and Language Teaching (Maribor, Slovenia, 7-8 September 2017).
The conference theme is the role of translation in language teaching; it is of major importance to the "multilingual challenge" in general and, of course, to the MIME project.
